Where will we fly? Can you steer the balloon?

A hot air balloon flies in the direction of the wind—it has no rudder or engine. However, the pilot can still control the trajectory by changing altitude, since winds blow in different directions at different heights. Planning the route is like a chess game: the starting point is known in advance, but the landing spot is chosen during the flight. Each flight is accompanied by a ground crew that follows the balloon and meets it at landing.
